Chris Strickland, 31, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Bainbridge, GA.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rawleigh Furney officiating. Chris was born January 18, 1983 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City Beach, FL. Being a “military brat” Chris spent several years of his early life at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines. He was a building contractor, and a master carpenter with the ability to see his client’s vision for a project. His artistic ability was evident in not only his hammer but his pencil as well. He enjoyed time spent in the outdoors, Atlanta Falcons football, and NASCAR racing. Chris will always be remembered as a great son, father, brother and most of all as a hero.
Survivors include his children, Kendall Strickland of Bainbridge, GA, MacKenzie Strickland of Bainbridge, GA; Haliegh Stewart of Bainbridge, GA; his father, Larry E. Strickland, and his wife, Linda, of Bainbridge, GA; his mother, Marjorie Hannah, and her husband Edward of Ohio; his siblings, Josh Strickland, and his fiancé Brittney of Bainbridge, GA, Jimmy Boggess, and his wife Jennifer of Bainbridge, GA, and Crystal Donalson and her husband David of Bainbridge, GA; his maternal grandmother, Betty Bower; his uncles, George Strickland, III and his wife, Debra, and Victor Strickland and his wife, Chan; and Destiny, Courtney, Taylor, Mahlina and several other nieces. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Vivian Strickland and his maternal grandfather, David Bower.
