Teramore Development has proposed plans to the City of Bainbridge and the Historic Preservation Commission to demolish the old Bainbridge Hardware store on Broad Street to build a Dollar General.
A public hearing for the project is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 22, before the Historic Planning Commission at 6 p.m. at City Hall. The public is welcome to voice any opinions at the meeting.
Teramore Development is seeking a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Commission to move forward with the project.
Bainbridge Hardware is not currently in business and sits empty.
Teramore Development is also building a Dollar General on Highway 84. The Bainbridge City Council approved the project in a 3-2 vote, with nays coming from councilwomen Glennie Bench and Roslyn Palmer.
