The Development Authority of Bainbridge and Decatur County, along with the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, held an appreciation luncheon for industries on April 17 at the Charter House Inn.
Speakers were Rick McCaskill, executive director of the Development Authority, Dr. Jon McRae, chairman of the Authority’s board, Evelyn Clay, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Jay Wells, chairman of the Existing Industries Committee.
Each year, the Authority and the Chamber of Commerce honor Decatur County industries for their commitment to the community.
McCaskill spoke to industry leaders about the opportunities available through the county and state for expansion of businesses.
“We want you to know we are here for you, so please let us know what your plans are so we can support you in those efforts,” McCaskill said.
McRae thanked the leaders for their selection of Decatur County and the impact they have on the local economy.
Clay and Wells thanked the industry leaders for their support of the community and offered opportunities to promote their businesses through the Chamber of Commerce.
In support of local industries, the Chamber of Commerce Existing Industries Committee and the Development Authority have established a new organization known as the Existing Industries Roundtable, which provides resource information on topics such as changes in human resource rules, OSHA updates and employment services to name a few.
The luncheon was held in conjunction with Industry Appreciation Week as established by the State of Georgia.
