Doug Stuart was named the manager after Vickers bought Miller Hydro. He and his wife, Elsie, came from England and they made many friends during their years in Bainbridge.

After Vickers sold the business to Lynch, the Stuart’s returned home to England. We kept up with Doug and Elsie over the years, mainly through their daughter, Jackie, and her husband.

We were saddened to learn the Elsie recently had a fall and went into the hospital. Her health deteriorated and Elsie passed away peacefully on June 10. Elsie was 91 years old. Doug is not in the best of health but seems to coping with his circumstances.

Jackie reports that Doug and Elsie had lovely and memorable times in Bainbridge. That period in their lives was very frequently referred to and with so much fondness. Please print this letter so as to pass on the sad news to any of their surviving friends.
