Goat Classic held at Cloud Livestock Facility

The Cloud Livestock Facility experienced another “first” when the Deep South Meat Goat Classic was held on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The event attracted exhibitors from Decatur, Colquitt, Thomas, Coffee and Franklin counties.
Like other livestock shows held at the facility, the Deep South Meat Goat Classic included showmanship and weight class competitions.
Jack Wall, extension agent from Tattnall County, had the honors of evaluating the livestock and showmen and selecting the top quality and skill of the day.
Anna Scott from Coffee County was named the overall Grand Champion Meat Goat.
Staci Clark from Colquitt County followed with the Reserve Champion.
Class winners included Class 1 winner, Davis Coleman from Colquitt County; Class 2 winner, Anna Scott, Coffee County; Class 3 winner Anna Scott, Coffee County; Class 4 Winner Megan Greeson, Colquitt County; Class 5 winner Staci Clark, Colquitt County.
In the showmanship division, winners included Class 1 Grades K-4 winner, Gracie Frazier; Class 2 Grade 5 winner, Lane Goodroe, Colquitt County; Class 3 Winner Memori Eavenson, Franklin County; and Class 4 Grades 9-12 Staci Clark, Colquitt County.
The top three in each class received cash prizes, and the champions also received glass trophies.
