Glenn named Army company commander

Nathaniel Glenn Jr., 37, of Bainbridge, was promoted to command of a U.S. Army company in August.
First Lt. Glenn received the command of the 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment’s Echo Company in a ceremony on Aug. 19 in Fort Campbell, Ky. He has served as the Echo Company executive officer since March 2009.
The son of Nathaniel Sr. and Veronica Glenn, 1st Lt. Glenn was born in Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge High School. He graduated from Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He joined the U.S. Army Reserves as a senior in high school and began full-time service in the Army in 1991. He has served in both Iraq and Afghanistan as an Army Ranger and his company—which takes care of and distributes supplies such as bullets—will be deployed overseas again in March 2010.
Glenn, who graduated from officer candidate school in 2007, has held a number of positions throughout his military career, including Ranger instructor, platoon sergeant, senior small group leader and squad leader.
His military education includes basic officer leaders course, total Army instructor course, master fitness trainer course, sling load inspector certification course, aerial delivery and material course, air movement operations course, airborne course, jumpmaster course and Ranger course.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Parachute Riggers Badge, Chilean Airborne Badge and the Ranger Tab.
Glenn is divorced and has four daughters, Kearsley, Veronica, Nathalia and Aija.
