Good fix

Excuse us for being a little shaky, but thanks for an apparent end to the rough railroad crossings around town.
Kudos to the Georgia Department of Transportation, CSX Railroad and whoever else who may have played a role in getting the railroad crossings on Dothan Road fixed.
Repairmen are putting concrete panels over the railroad tracks, which will allow the travel over them to be a lot more smooth.
It will also make them a lot safer.
DOT also announced on Tuesday a detour on Fowlstown Road/South West Street near John Johnson Elementary School for next week, in order to fix those railroad crossings.
Work will begin on Monday, Nov. 9, with the installation of concrete panels there as well.
Railroads play an important part in the commerce of Decatur County, so it’s good to see that the tracks they run on are being refurbished and improved.
It will also be nice that those tracks won’t have to shake the heebie-jeebies out of motorists crossing them.
