Being thankful

Thursday, as Bainbridge and Decatur Countians gather around family tables filled with turkey and all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day, they will take time to thank their Lord and God for all the many blessings they have received during the past year.
Among those blessings are the opening of the beautiful new Bainbridge High School, the beginning of construction on the new Student Wellness Center at Bainbridge College and the increased use of the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA therapeutic pool, which has brought health benefits to many.
The beautiful new ball fields being constructed for youngsters at Bill Reynolds Sports Park are a blessing as well.
We are also thankful for the many coaches who volunteer their time to work with youngsters in the various YMCA and Bainbridge Leisure Services Department youth sports programs.
We are thankful to all the cooks and volunteers who provide Thanksgiving meals to shut-ins each Thanksgiving Day and all the people who visit shut-ins and bring them meals through the Meals on Wheels program during the year.
We are thankful for our many churches whose members visit the sick on an almost daily basis and to parents, pastors and teachers who serve as great role models for our young people.
We are thankful for to our readers and advertisers at The Post-Searchlight and to those in the community that make this such a nice place to live.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, and more importantly, thank you—for all our blessings.
