Covering our greed

What will it take to awaken America?
It is as if we are at a point of decision with many known enemies within and out.
Could God be saying to us as Americans: “Be zealous therefore and repent”? Revelation 3:19.
Was the “Merry Christmas parade” a farce, using the glorious birth of the blessed savior to try to cover over our greed, lust and avarice?
My thought is that we should be on our faces before the son of man of John, Revelation 1:13-13 “and in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; and his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.”
Lest the Lord Jesus say these awesome words to us: “So the because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not art wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich: and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see,” Revelation 3:16-19.
