Funeral services for Joseph Edward Roland, 51, of Bainbridge, were held Monday, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. David Grubbs officiating.
Interment followed at New Salem Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Colquitt, Ga., with Ken Barber, Billy Roland, Larry Roland, Mike Lorenz, Arnold Whittaker and Michael Joiner serving as active pallbearers.
Born Feb. 14, 1958, in Belle Glade, Fla., Mr. Roland died on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at his residence in Bainbridge.
Mr. Roland had been in Bainbridge for six years since moving from Cairo, Ga. He was a member of New Salem Freewill Baptist Church in Colquitt, a mechanic for Amoco Fabrics and liked gardening.
He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Vevelon Long Roland.
Survivors include his father, J.E. Roland of Bainbridge; a son, Josh Roland of Cairo, Ga.; a brother, Kenny Roland of Colquitt, Ga., and a sister, Melanie Owens of Morristown, Tenn.; as well as five nieces and nephews.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
