Jana Simmons, center, is the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens winner representing Grace Christian Academy. Simmons is the daughter of Jan and Doug Simmons of Cairo, Ga. With her are Joan Shiver, director of Grace, on the left, and Carolyn Pierce, right, who represents DAR. Simmons, a 17-year-old senior, plans to finish her associate’s degree at Bainbridge College then transfer to Georgia Southern, majoring in biology. She hopes to then attend medical school with hopes to become a dermatologist.
