Bainbridge College (BC) is welcoming Shawn A. McGee, comptroller at Georgia Southwestern State University, as its interim vice president of the Business Affairs Office. He started March 1, succeeding Gordon Prettelt, who has accepted a position at Augusta State University; he and his family live in the Augusta area. “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Shawn McGee,” said President Tom Wilkerson, praising Prettelt for his excellent work. A Baker County native, McGee earned his associate of science degree from Darton College and his bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Valdosta State University. He is a certified public accountant whose experience includes serving as an auditor for Georgia Department of Audits and Accounts. He has been at Georgia Southwestern since 2008. McGee brings to BC more than 12 years of experience in governmental accounting and auditing. He has planned, supervised and reviewed higher education and school district financial audits, including review of work completed by other auditors.
