A funeral service for Sybil McCurdy Thompson, 86, will be held Wednesday, April 7, at 11 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willis officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Kenneth Nelson, Jim Freudenberg, Trey Stokes, Glen Stokes and Aaron Minix serving as active pallbearers.

Born May 16, 1923, in LaGrange, Ga., Mrs. Thompson died on Friday, April 2, 2010, at Palm Gardens Nursing Home in Largo, Fla.

Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and a former member of Bethany Baptist Church. Mrs. Thompson was a loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Pope Thompson.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Freudenberg of Largo, Fla., and Pamela Nelson of Tallahassee, Fla.; her son, Danny Guthrie of Brinson, Ga.; her sister, Hilda Dobbins of Lakeland, Fla., five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces.
