In an animated presentation to area residents and Bainbridge College Early County Center students, faculty and staff, Georgia’s 2010 Teacher of the Year, Gwen Desselle of Colquitt County, talks about the critical need for teachers to change and grow professionally.
She is seen here speaking from 32 years of experience in her talk “Change is Not a 4-Letter Word.”
She highlighted the needs for change in instruction techniques, relationships with parents, community and colleagues.
Teachers can effect change by realizing all children can be taught, but they must be taught differently and more actively, and that technology can be a big aid to reaching students.
For the presentation this semester, BCEC faculty member John McRae introduced the speaker.
