Pvt. Clay graduates from basic

Pvt. Christopher Clay, son of Marty and Evelyn Clay of Bainbridge, graduated from basic combat training on May 14. During Pvt. Clay’s training period of 10 weeks, he achieved the Expert Marksmanship Award. Following graduation he was posted to a military intelligence battalion located on Fort Huachuca, Ariz., for advanced individual training as an intelligence analyst. Pvt. Clay continues the long tradition of military servicemen in both parents’ families. Marty Clay’s father, Harry Clay, is a Pearl Harbor survivor, and Evelyn Clay’s father, the late Albert Garbowski, retired from the U.S. Army following service in Europe and in Vietnam. Pvt. Clay is the grandson of Harry and Catherine Clay, and Ann Garbowski.
