Dorothy Skipper

Funeral services for Dorothy Skipper, 88, of Blakely, Ga., were held Friday, Jan. 28, at New Hope Baptist Church in Blakely, Ga., with the Revs. Fred Odom and Sterling Jones officiating.
Interment followed in the Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville with Carlton Skipper, Ronnie Skipper, Emmitt Mock, Sterling Davis, Keith Bowen and Mike Widner acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. Skipper was born April 30, 1922, in Miller County, Ga., and died Jan. 25, 2011, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Blakely; a homemaker and loved to work in her yards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Ida Bowen Lewis; her husband, Leon Skipper; a brother, Charlie M. Lewis; three sisters, Myrtle Bowen, Vinnie Louvina Lewis and Calista Lewis, and a nephew, Daulton Bowen.
She is survived by one daughter, Melanie Foster and her husband, Doyle, of Blakely; two grandsons, Tom Foster of Donalsonville and Blake Foster of Blakely; and five great-grandchildren;
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
