Roy Wilson Johns

The funeral service for Roy Wilson Johns, 90, of Recovery, Ga., and formerly of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, at Recovery United Methodist Church with the Revs. Donna Sue Roberts and James Olivent officiating.
Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mr. Johns was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Decatur County, Ga., the son of Leroy Johns and Mattie Wilson Johns. He died Jan. 27, 2011, at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington, Ga.
He was a retired supervisor for the Gulf Power Company and a local farmer. Mr. Johns was a member of the Recovery United Methodist Church and was the last surviving family member of his generation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Fletcher Johns; his grandson, Matt Evans; his sisters, Mary Potter and Varue Holt; and his brothers, Alton Johns, Alvin Johns and Paul Johns.
Survivors include his son, Ronald Johns and his wife, Frances, of Tampa, Fla.; his daughters, Patsy Chandler and her husband, George, of Winterville, Ga., Peggy Evans of Bainbridge, Emily Sessions and her husband, J.R., of Gordon, Ala., Debra Maxwell and her husband, Jim, of Havana, Fla., and Teresa Ebanks of Tampa; his 10 grandchildren and his four great-grandchildren.
