On Feb. 13, the Emanuel M.B. Church observed its annual Laymen Brotherhood Breakfast with the Rev. Adren Bivins Sr. as the speaker. The theme was “Dwelling Together in Unity.” He stressed the importance of unity and working together, and said where there is unity, there is strength and where there is strength, there is growth for all to do the work of the Lord. Bivins read a plaque for the Rev. T.E. Sanders (who was not able to attend) expressing their appreciation for him bringing the laymen auxiliary to this area. Bivins was also given a proclamation for his work in the community on behalf of the Decatur County Sheriff’s office, which was presented by Investigator Julian Crowder.
