Graveside funeral services for Luther Bell Jr., 72, of Decatur County, were held Saturday, Feb. 26, at Bell Memorial Garden on Carrie Bell Drive with Brother Harold Edmond officiating.
Donald Pearson, Jessie Miller, Artis Rambo Jr., Alfonza Cooper and Derick Edwards served as active pallbearers.
Born Feb. 10, 1939, in Bainbridge, Mr. Bell died on Feb. 20, 2011, at Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bell was the son of Luther Bell Sr. and Gracie Mae Bell.
He was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Elnore Bell.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Evangelist Carrie Mae Williams; five daughters, Gwendolyn Wormley and Cynthia Griffin and her husband, Kenneth, both of Rochester, N.Y., Lithina Miller, Carolyn Bell and Edwina Pearson and her husband, Donald, all of Bainbridge; three sons, Luther Bell III and Jonathan Bell of Bainbridge and Jamel Bell and his wife, Katie, of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Lowe and her husband, the Rev. Simon and Mary Dixon, both of Rochester; two brothers-in-law, David Robinson of Rochester and Andre Williams of Mount Dora, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Jesse Williams of Mount Dora and Ruby Simms of Cleveland, Ohio; 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
