A memorial service for William Edger Sims, 60, of Colquitt, Ga., will be held on Monday, March 21, at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with the Rev. Laddie DeRocco officiating.

Mr. Sims was born in Donalsonville, Ga., on Aug. 12, 1950, and died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at his home.

He was self-employed as a mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edger Sims and Annie Louise King Sims; four brothers, Larry Sims, Gerald Sims, Prince Sims and Earl Sims; and a grandson, Walker Sims.

Survivors include his long-time companion, Charlotte Muth of Colquitt; two sons, Willie Earl Sims of Iron City, Ga., and Phillip Lee Sims of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two daughters, Loria Heidnreich of Donalsonville and Cathy Ezell of Punta Gorda; two brothers, Tommy Hudson of Donalsonville and Carlos Sims of Arcadia, Fla.; three sisters, Patricia Ward of Gordon, Ala., Elsie Maddox of Ashford, Ala., and Brenda Farley of Arcadia; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
