The funeral service for Roy L. Brown Jr., 67, of Bainbridge, Ga., will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Johns officiating.
Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery near Faceville with Carlton Bryant, Ed Thompson, Scott Salmon, Kenny Kirkland, Kevin McCook and Tyler Rich serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. on Monday at Ivey Funeral Home.
Mr. Brown was born May 14, 1943, in Bainbridge, the son of Roy L. Brown and Mattie Spooner Brown. He died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Bainbridge Health Care. He was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1961, and a member of Faceville Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Dale Rich Brown of Bainbridge; his sons, Lester Brown and his wife, Deborah, of Bainbridge, Ralph Rich and his wife, Tondra, of Donalsonville, and Ben Rich Jr. and his wife, April, of Bainbridge; his daughters, Teresa Kirkland and her husband, Kenny, of Colquitt, and Deana George and her husband, David, of Colquitt; his brother, Joe Brown of Bainbridge; his sisters, Nell Sadberry of Quincy, Fla., Ann Altman and her husband, Harvey, of Freeport, Fla., Linda Salmon and her husband, Scott, of Bainbridge, and Barbara Welch of Duluth, Ga.; his grandchildren, Stephanie Brown McCook and her husband, Kevin, Luke Brown, Tyler Rich, Kyle Rich, Kaleb Rich, Ashley Anderson and his wife, Lindsay, Brian Anderson and his wife, Dana, Dylan George, Adam George, Jeremy George and Justin Obney; and his great-grandchildren, Chloe McCook, Isabella Anderson and Lydia Bentley.
