A celebration of life service for Frank E. Mitchell, Jr., 85, of Lake Placid, Fla., was held on Wednesday, August 17 at the Michael A. Brochetti Funeral Home with full military honors. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 19 at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery in Climax.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Folds of Honor Foundation, 5800 N. Patriot Drive, Owasso, OK 74055.

Frank was born Feb. 28, 1926 in Vero Beach, Fla., the son of Mr. Frank E. Mitchell Sr. and Ms. Janie Dixon. He died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011. He was a World War II and a Korean War veteran, serving in both, the United States Army and United States Air Force. Frank was a truck driver for many years driving for the dairy industry and spent the last five years as a driver for Sun Ridge Harvesting in Lake Placid. He came to Lake Placid in 1990 from Naples, Fla. He was raised Southern Baptist.

Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolly, and his sister, Catherine.

Survivors include his children, Chuck Malool of Denver, Colo., Frank E. Mitchell III of Tulsa, Okla., Murphy Mitchell and his wife, Callie, of Scottsdale, Ariz., Toni Ison and her husband, Stefan, of Naples, Mary Malool, Carol Ruano, and Jennifer Canevari and her husband, Louis, all of Lake Placid; his siblings, Kenneth Mitchell and Freddie Sampson, both of California; and his nine grandchildren.
