• Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church—The church, located at 849 Martin Luther King Dr., will have an appreciation program for Mrs. Fannita Gleen Close on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 4 p.m. Everyone is cordially invited, including soloists, choirs and groups. • LifeStream Church—The church, located at 1301 S. West St., is hosting a four-week parenting class on Wednesday nights, running through Oct. 12. Classes are free and begin at 7 p.m., dismissing no later than 8:30 p.m. Chris Beam of the Samaritan House leads the first sessions, with the last being taught by Pastor Ken Sellars. • Disciples of Jesus Ministries—The church, located at 1630 Bethel Road, will conclude its revival Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. Featured speaker will be Apostle Larry Bardge of McDonough, Ga.
• Kingdom Harvest Fellowship—Located at 652 Wautauga Road in Attapulgus, will continue the spiritual warfare conference 2011, which began on Friday. On Saturday, Sept. 24 beginning at 9 a.m, featured speakers will be Pastor Ray Copeland, of Quitman; Prophetess Carolyn Washington of Perry Fla. and Prophetess Angela Hindsman of Cairo.
• Second Elizabeth M.B. Church—The church, located at 2718 Attapulgus Highway in Quincy, Fla., will be the site of the Women Intermediate Auxiliary of the Union Baptist Association Dual Day Program on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m. It will also host the church’s Annual Family and Friends Day service Sunday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m. with Minister Greg Taylor and the Exodus Church of Deliverance in charge of the service. Dinner will be served on the grounds.
• Bethel M.B. Church—The church, located at 400 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Road in Colquitt, will host a Spiritual Soul Singers Reunion on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. Dinner will be served after the service. • Southwest Baptist Church—The church, located at 1101 Faceville Hwy. in Bainbridge, will have Family & Friends Day, with the theme “Bring a Friend Day” on Sunday, Sept. 25. Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. and morning service at 10:30 a.m., followed by a covered dish luncheon.
• Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church—The church, located at 1810 S. West St., will observe its Usher Anniversary on Sept. 25 at 11:15 a.m.
• Ford Chapel A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 425 W. College St., will have a Friends and Family Day on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m. ,with John the Baptist Church and pastor as event participants.
• Bethel A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 207 N. Griffin Ave. in Attapulgus, will observe a Family and Friends Day celebration on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 3 p.m. Dr. Larry Brown, Pastor of Springfield A.M.E. Church in Gretna, Fla., will be the guest speaker, on the theme of “Shew Yourself Friendly.”
• Recovery United Methodist Church—The church, located at 307 Recovery Road off Highway 97 South, will hold its annual Fall Yard Sale on Friday, Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 1, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
• Swanswall M.B. Church—The church, located on Swanswall Road in Brinson, will observe the church’s 126th anniversary on Oct. 2 at 11:30 a.m. Event speaker will be Rev. D. Thurman of 1st Macedonia M.B. Church of Bainbridge, who will speak on the theme, “We’ve Come this Far by Faith,” with music by the Nobeletts.
• Faith Life Ministries—The church, located at 335 Colquitt Highway in Eldorendo, will observe its Choir Anniversary on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
• Mt. Zuma Church—The church, located at 2015 Vada Road, will observe its Usher Board Anniversary on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. with guest speaker the Rev. Albert Douglas and Piney Grove Male Chorus as guest musicians. Dinner will be served.
• Calvary Baptist Church—The church, located at 601 Chason St., will host a weekend of fun, food and fellowship for ladies Oct. 14-15, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Guest author, humorist and speaker Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, will speak. She is the author of Suck Your Stomach In And Put Some Color On and of Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy. Special music will be provided by the Florida Baptist College Ensemble on Friday night. Tickets are on sale at the church office and include lunch on Saturday. • Poplar Spring M.B. Church—The church, located at 409 Mobley Road in Climax, will celebrate its annual Choir Anniversary on Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m.
