• LifeStream Church—The church, located at 1301 S. West St., is hosting a four-week parenting class on Wednesday nights, running through Oct. 12. Classes are free and begin at 7 p.m., dismissing no later than 8:30 p.m. Chris Beam of the Samaritan House leads the first sessions, with the last being taught by Pastor Ken Sellars. • God’s Way Bible Study and ministry, along with Foister’s BBQ, is extending an invitation for the 3rd annual peanut boiling and gospel sing on Oct. 8 from 6-9 p.m. Located 3 miles East of Vada off Highway 262 on Fern Road. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.
• Dry Springs A.M.E. Church—The church, located at 934 Salem Church Road in Climax will have a Family and Friends morning worship service on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 11 a.m. with Minister Belinda Coley as featured speaker.
• Mount Zion M.B. Church—The church, located at 516 Hanover Road in Cyrene will celebrate its 144th church anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Earl Hallmon, pastor of Mount Zion M.B. Church, Damascus, as guest speaker.
• Faith Life Ministries—The church, located at 335 Colquitt Hwy., Eldorendo, will observe the Choir Anniversary on Oct. 8 at 6 p.m. and Oct. 9 at 3 p.m.
• Mt. Zuma Church—The church, located at 2015 Vada Road, will observe the Usher Board Anniversary on Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Rev. Albert Douglas and Piney Grove Male Chorus as guest musicians. Dinner will be served.
• St. Matthew M.B. Church—The church, located at 5574 St. Matthews/St. John Road, Donalsonville, will observe the annual Friends & Family Day on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. Guest pastor will be Keith Cloud of Mt. Zion F.B. Church, Gretna, Fla. with music by The New Voices of Faith from Donalsonville and the Union Baptist Male Ushers of Bainbridge. Dinner will be served following the service.
• First African Baptist Church—The church, located at 115 Church St., West Bainbridge, will celebrate the service of installation for their pastor, Rev. Henry L. Flowers III on Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. with Mt. Calvary M.B. Church of Cairo and the Rev. Alexander Mack in charge of the services.
• New Abundant Life Church—The church, located at 507 E. Water Street, welcomes all to the opening of their new church. A celebration Oct. 13-16 at 7:30 p.m. will honor the late Elder Williams H. Virgin. On Saturday night there will be a gospel sing featuring The New Voices of Faith. All gospel singers are invited to participate.
• Calvary Baptist Church—The church, located at 601 Chason St., will host a weekend of fun, food and fellowship for ladies Oct. 14-15, beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 9 a.m. on Saturday. Guest author, humorist and speaker Shellie Rushing Tomlinson, will speak. She is the author of Suck Your Stomach in and Put Some Color On and of Sue Ellen’s Girl Ain’t Fat, She Just Weighs Heavy. Special music will be provided by the Florida Baptist College Ensemble on Friday night. Tickets are on sale at the church office and include lunch on Saturday. To reserve tickets call 229-246-1408.
• Poplar Spring M.B. Church—The church, located at 409 Mobley Road, Climax, will celebrate their annual Choir Anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m.
• St. John’s Episcopal Church—The church, located at 516 E. Broughton St., invites you to bring your pets, companion animals or service animals for a service of Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. on the church lawn. All animals should be on a leash or in a carrier.
• First African Baptist Church—The church, located at 515 Webster Street, will celebrate their annual Mission in Action program on Sunday, Oct. 16 beginning at 3 p.m. The theme for the occasion is “Missionary Work is Costly, but it is Worth the Price. Guest speaker will be Rev. James Platt, Pastor of Nelson Chapel AME Church.
• Mt. Nebo M.B. Church—The church, located on Lake Douglas Road, will have a Family and Friends Day during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, Oct. 22. At 3 p.m. that same day there will be an installation service for the Rev. Tamorris Baulkman. Refreshments will be served after each service.
• Recovery United Methodist Church—The church, located on Recovery Road, will hold the fall Pilau Supper on Saturday, Oct. 22, serving from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dine inside fellowship hall or carry-out.
• New Harvest Ministries Inc.—The church, located 411 Donalson St., Bainbridge, will host the annual Grand Fellowship Assemble Oct. 27-30 featuring Youth night-Oct. 27 at 7, Women night-Oct. 28 at 7:30. Saturday morning workshop and ordination service is at 10 a.m. Ministries and Elder night-Oct. 29 at 7. Meeting closes Oct. 30 with 11:15 a.m. services.
• God’s Temple of Holy Praise—The church, located at 106 Griffin St., Bainbridge, will host the 3rd annual Fall Youth Program on October 28, at 7 p.m., with guest speaker, Jr. Bishop Willie Lamb Jr., the Lamb’s Temple of God Working in the Earth Ministry.
• Celebration Baptist Church—The church, located at 3039 Faceville Hwy. (97 S) will have a 5th Sunday Sing on Oct. 30. Morning worship is at 11 a.m., lunch at 12:15 p.m. and singing from 1:15 to 3:30 p.m., with “The Faithful Servants” from Tifton as musical guests.
• Second St. James M.B. Church—The church, located at 1912 S. Potter St., will have a program on Nov. 13 at 3 p.m. in honor of Rev. Edmond and his wife Daisy Howard for their commitment and dedication to their church. Guwst speaker will be Rev. Cleveland Sanders.
