Sheriff’s deputies arrested a West Bainbridge man Wednesday morning after they found a large amount of illegal drugs inside his house.
Michael Jackson, 31, of 823 Zorn Road, is facing multiple charges after members of the Sheriff’s Special Response Team executed a no-knock search warrant at his home at approximately 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to Captain Chip Nix.
During a search of the home, deputies found a large amount of powder cocaine as well as approximately two ounces of marijuana and about $900 in cash, Capt. Nix said.
Jackson was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects. In addition, Jackson already had warrants for his arrest for failure to pay child support and for violating his probation on a previous charge of sale of cocaine, according to Nix.
While deputies were at Jackson’s home, 36-year-old Brian Toney of Donalsonville, Ga., drove up to the residence with a child riding in his vehicle, Nix said. According to Nix, Toney was attempting to purchase cocaine and therefore was charged with criminal attempt to purchase cocaine.
Toney is also on probation, on a previous charge of possession of cocaine, Nix said.
Sheriff’s deputies participating in Wednesday’s bust included Nix, investigators Cheryl Roberts and Julian Crowder, Capt. Justin Bedwell, Nick Godwin, Sam Hughes and Michael Cox.
