The third annual Cougar Roll and Stroll 5K and Fun Run will be held Saturday, Feb. 25 at Elcan King Elementary School, located at 725 Louise Street in Bainbridge.

The event is intended to promote a healthier lifestyle and get families to become active together, said race organizer Jamye Hathcoat, who teaches first grade at the school. Proceeds from the race will go toward activities for the school’s students.

Race day registration begins at 7 a.m., with the 5K walk/run to start at 8 a.m. and a one-mile fun run to take place at 9 a.m.

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finishers, the top male and female in each age group and to all fun run participants.

People who want a race T-shirt should pre-register by February 17. Pre-registration costs are $20 for the 5K and $10 for the Fun Run; on race day, registration will cost $25 for the 5K and $12 for the one-mile fun run.

Race registration forms can be downloaded at www.thepostsearchlight.com, printed out and returned to Elcan King Elementary School in person or via mail.
