Citizens will receive two special pickups each year
MAY 25, 2012, BAINBRIDGE, GA – Beginning Friday, June 1, the City of Bainbridge will change its policies for Special Trash Pickup. Currently, citizens are allowed free, unlimited special pickup throughout the year for items such as furniture, electronics and other household items.
However, beginning June 1, the City will allow only two free special pickups per calendar year, per address. After a residence receives two pickups, the city’s Public Services Division must be contacted to assess and price the pickup pile. Pricing will be based on the size of the pile.
Special Pickup is a service offered by the City’s Public Services Division. This year, the Special Pickup calendar will run from June through December and will start over beginning January 1, 2013. This means citizens will be allowed two free pickups between June and December of this year.
Most household items can be included in Special Pickup piles, but no building materials, paint, tires or batteries will be picked up.
For questions or more information, please contact the city’s Public Services Division at 229-248-2014.
