Funeral services for Frank Heard Jr., 71, of Colquitt, will be Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Barwick officiating.

Interment will follow at Primitive Union Cemetery with Stacy Heard, Bruce Herndon, Chad Heard, Chris Heard, Jerry Heard, Gary Heard, Jr. and Johnny Rentz serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Felix Tabb Jr., Ray Henley, Don Middleton, Adrian Lovering, Jerry Grimsley, Don Calhoun, Marcell Sheffield, and Rex Cook.

Visitation will be Monday, July 30, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mr. Heard was a farmer, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and attended Colquitt Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Newberry Heard of Colquitt; two daughters, Melanie (Tommy) Smith of Colquitt and Marcia (Alan) Lee of Leary, Ga.; two sons, Lance (Lisa) Heard and Dane (Laural) Heard, both of Adel, Ga.; nine grandchildren, Brandon (Laura) Smith of Bainbridge, Ansley (Jeremy) Smith of Colquitt, Whitney (Lance) Tabb of Gainesville, Fla., Miles Lee of Leary, Tyler Heard, Garrett Heard, Reece Heard, Morgan Heard and Caroline Heard, all of Adel; five great-grandchildren, Lexie Smith and Bowen Smith of Bainbridge, Greyson Smith and Blaise Smith of Colquitt, and Townsend Tabb of Gainesville; one brother Joe Heard of Newton, GA. and one sister, Verna Herndon of Lyons, Ga.
