The Early County High School Lady Bobcats downed the Bainbridge High School Lady Cats, 71-59, in a preseason basketball scrimmage Tuesday, in Blakely, Ga.
“We are going to be very young this season,” Lady Cats coach Kelvin Cochran said Wednesday. “We are starting four sophomores, including shooting guard Alex Carter, power forward Patra Parris, small forward Tameria Levens, and point guard Beonka Madge, and one junior shooting guard Teena Jeffery.
“The young ladies really hustled and played hard. If they keep doing that, and I am sure they will, they will continue to get better.”
Parris led the Lady Cats with 16 points. Levens was also in double figures with 10. Madge added seven points.
Providing senior leadership for the Lady Cats this season is small forward Carenshia Kennedy.
