Mattie Maxwell, 83, of Attapulgus, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jimmy Weaver officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens, with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Maxwell was born March 2, 1929, in Anniston, Ala., the daughter of Ernest Crowe and Nora Phillips Crowe. She was a dedicated homemaker and wife.

She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Lynwood Maxwell.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Clifford B. Maxwell Sr.; her children, Bronwood Lamar Maxwell and his wife, Taresa, Edna Faye Colvin and her husband, Franklin, Inis (Bert) Calhoun and her husband, Roy, Clifford B. Maxwell Jr. and his wife, Kathy, Harry Landron Maxwell, Nora Kaye Ramer and her husband, Glenn, Ernest Eugene Maxwell and his wife, Sherry, Myra Elizabeth Maxwell, Sue Ellen Dapsi, Donald Hugh Maxwell, Linda Darlene Johns and her husband, Blake, Kimberly Diane Lane, James William Maxwell, Edith Jeanette Lewis, and Danny Lavon Maxwell; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
