Grace teams split games

The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars and Cougars basketball teams split a pair of games with the Highland Christian Academy Lady Eagles and Eagles, Friday in Valdosta.
The Lady Cougars lost 52-46 in overtime, and the Cougars won 68-65. It was the conference season openers for both teams.
Emilee Murr led the Lady Cougars with 22 points, and hit 9-of-12 from the free-throw line. Jasmin Kelley was also in double figures, with 11 points. Shellby Woodrum added eight points and Kelsey Harrell put in five.
Brent Noble hit a three-point jumper with 24 seconds left in the game to gave the Cougars a 66-65 lead. Phillip Bowen then stole a pass and drove in for a layup with less than 10 seconds left to seal the victory.
Game-scoring honors went to Dusty Thomas of the Eagles with 23 points. Jack McRae led the Cougars with 19 points, including 17 in the second half.
Also in double figures for the Cougars were Brent Noble with 15, Phillip Bowen with 12 and Brent Warr with 11.
