Bainbridge Public Safety is warning Bainbridge residents about recent phone scams. Unknown callers have been contacting residents stating they have outstanding checks or pay day advance loans and that there are warrants out for their arrest. The caller even has personal information about the residents, but asks for more.
“It is very important to never give out personal information over the phone,” said Bainbridge Public Safety Captain Ryan Wimberley. “In fact, you should never even confirm any information callers may have.”
Anyone who has received this type of call and has any questions can contact Bainbridge Public Safety at 229-248-2038. For questions regarding legitimate warrants, citizens can contact the local magistrate judge, Ralph Smith.
