The Bainbridge College Student Veterans of America will sponsor the first annual Purple Heart 5,000-meter (3.1-mile) run and one-mile walk, to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

The run, which will all take place on the college campus, will get underway at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 26.

The course will consist of both asphalt road and cross-country terrain. The cross country-portion of the run has rolling hills on a packed dirt road.

The registration fee is $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the run. Runners should go to www.gulfwinds.org to register.

T-shirts will be given to participants. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in all categories.
