Services for Rev. Ken Driggers, 63, were held at 9 a.m., on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Elam Community Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy Little and the Rev. Larry Harris officiating. Interment was at Elam Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Rich Jackson, Tommy Johnson, Don Holley, Jason Hylton, Mike Suggs, Vince Snow, Steve Jacobs and Roger Denham. Honorary pallbearers were Earl Peters, Jack McCullers, Ramsey Renfroe and Carlton Hart.
Rev. Driggers was born on July 15, 1949, in Colquitt, Ga., to the late W. S. Driggers (Scottie) and Grace Widner. He was a graduate of Miller County High School, Free Will Baptist College and Gulf Coast Seminary. Rev. Driggers was the pastor of Elam Community Baptist Church and retired as a market manager for Publix supermarkets.
On March 19, 1997, Rev. Driggers wed Mrs. Janice M. Driggers in Pavo, Ga., and their union continued until the time of his passing. Rev. Driggers departed this life on Dec. 31, 2012, at his home in Pavo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Gail Spooner and Virginia Warren and a brother Leroy Driggers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elam Community.
Survivors to cherish his memory include his wife Janice M. Driggers of Pavo; son Brian Mark Driggers of Donalsonville, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law Danielle Driggers Alday (Rev. Slade Alday) of Donalsonville; son and daughter-in-law Joseph Chad Driggers of Foley, Ala.; grandsons Andrew Driggers of Rehobeth, Ala., and Zeb Driggers of Bonifay, Fla.; granddaughter Leah Pipkin of Foley, Ala.; stepson and wife Jamie Finch (Ashley) of Thomasville; grandson Whitt Finch of Thomasville, Ga.; granddaughters Amelia Finch and Adeline Finch, both of Thomasville; and brother and sister-in-law Troy and Sara Long of Bainbridge.
Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home was in charge.
