Department of Labor to partner with expo

The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Bainbridge Career Center and Veterans Services Division will assist Bainbridge College with the Southwest Georgia Job and Career Expo on Thursday, Jan. 31, according to a press release from the GDOL.
The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kirbo Regional Center, located on the Bainbridge College campus at 2500 E. Shotwell St. in Bainbridge. Other expo sponsors include the Southwest Georgia Employer Committee and the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.
The expo will feature a number of employers that will be hiring or discussing present and future employment opportunities. GDOL staff will be available to provide resume-writing assistance to job seekers, while veterans’ representatives will offer employment and other assistance to military veterans.
Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.
Among those expected to participate in the expo include: Albany Police Department, American General, Georgia Department of Corrections, Gentiva Hospice and Home Health, Rescare, Shaw Industries, Seminole Marine, Trillium Drivers, and Wellcare.
