Electronics recycling event coming

Keep Decatur County Beautiful will soon host an electronic recycling event designed to allow people to easily dispose of their unwanted devices in an environmentally-friendly manner.
The event will take place Saturday, February 16 at the county’s old landfill off Georgia 309 South (2773 Fowlstown Road), from 9 a.m. until noon
During the event, local residents will be able to drop off a variety of items, including: old personal computers, monitors, LCD screen/flat screen monitors, VCR’s, radios, stereos, DVD players, microwaves, power supplies, rechargeable batteries, vacuums, banking equipment, telephones, pagers, networking equipment, laptops, keyboards, mice, power cables, medical equipment (non-hazardous), printers, copy machines, fax machines, cell phones, transformers, scanners, portable electronic devices, servers, networking hubs, ink cartridges, toner cartridges, remotes, modems, projectors, cameras, televisions.
Items not accepted include: console/projection TVs, washers and dryers, vacuum cleaners, humidifiers/de-humidifiers, refrigerators, car batteries, toaster ovens, gas-powered tools, tires, battery-powered tools, freezers, blenders, household trash, mixers and ovens.
People who dispose of television sets will be charged a $10 fee.
