FIXING A POLE: Georgia Power crews work to replace a utility pole in front of Dairy Queen shortly after 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon, after the pole was damaged in a wreck. According to Bainbridge Public Safety, a white female in a sport utility vehicle was headed east on Shotwell Street and lost control, striking the wooden pole and snapping it in two. The SUV also ran over a sprinkler nozzle in front of the Dairy Queen, causing it to spray water in the air for a few minutes. BPS had to close the two eastbound lanes of Shotwell Street, while Georgia Power worked to replace the pole.
