The week of March 18-22 has been proclaimed as “School Board Appreciation Week” in the state of Georgia.
School board members give up countless hours of their time, and expend their individual talents, to the pursuit of making our school system as strong as it can possibly be. When a school board is truly effective, it benefits not only the children and parents in the school system, but also the entire community.
We are lucky to have an effective school board in Decatur County. Although they do not always agree on all issues, they are willing to compromise and arrive at a solution that will meet the needs of our school system.
