Mrs. Argatha Kelly, 101, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at Bethel Baptist Church, in Brinson, Ga., with the Rev. Newton Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Climax with Ricky Worthington, Gary Phillips, John Strickland, Ed Poitivint, Ronald Worthington and Spencer Duncan serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at Cox Funeral Home.

Argatha Griffin was born May 10, 1911, in Whigham, Ga. to Walter S. Griffin and Clementine Logue Griffin. She married Charlie J. Kelly, who preceded her in death in 1974. She worked in tomatoes and okra for the Campbell Soup Company, was a housewife and mother. Mrs. Kelly attended Bethel Baptist Church. She loved to fish and work in the yard.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by sons Amos Kelly Jr. and Bill Kelly; and daughters Janie May and Alma Kelly.

Survivors include her children, Juanita Phillips and husband, David of Climax, Charles Larry Kelly and wife, Sue of Albany, John Bruce (J.B.) Kelly and wife Peggy of Bainbridge and Marlene Coleman and husband Ronnie of Middleburg, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.
