Mrs. Mary Brooks Kennedy, 94, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge.
Services for Mrs. Kennedy were held Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Gerald Little officiated. Interment followed in Oak City Cemetery.
Kevin Marvin, Ray Foco, Eric Marvin, Joel McConnell, Roy Rogers and Peyton Dixon served as pallbearers. Bob Strickland and Harvey Gene Rogers served as honorary pallbearers.
Mary Brooks was born July 1, 1918, in Dale County, Ala., to Marion Brooks and Docia Bolton Brooks. She was a person who always helped other people. Mary loved to cook. She was passionate about her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Collie S. Kennedy, children, Vernell Marvin and Bunny Sue Heil, four sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include her children, Betty Jean Ward of Bainbridge, Doris Pace of Jacksonville, Fla., Ida Mae Foco and husband, Ray of Pinconning, Mich., Nell McConnell and husband, Gerald of Bainbridge, and Randall Kennedy and wife, Nancy of Climax. Mrs. Kennedy has 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Cox Funeral Home is in charge.
