The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office helped the U.S. Marshals Service locate a wanted fugitive from New Jersey early Wednesday morning.
Jesse Lee Osborne III, 23, whose address was listed as 505 Hall Street Apt. D, Bainbridge, was being sought as a federal fugitive for two warrants for his arrest in New Jersey.
Osborne was wanted on a bench warrant on the charge of conspiracy to commit robbery and for forfeiture of his bail.
“The U.S. Marshals from Albany, Ga., contacted us Tuesday and asked us for assistance in looking for Osborne, as it was known he has relatives living in Decatur County,” said Sheriff Wiley Griffin.
Griffin said deputies and the marshals searched for Osborne for several hours on Tuesday night and visited several relatives’ houses in hopes of locating him. Finally, at approximately 2 a.m. Wednesday, Osborne’s relatives convinced him to turn himself in to Capt. Pat Trolinger, who was waiting in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, Griffin said.
Law enforcement officials from New Jersey are traveling to Bainbridge to pick Osborne up and transport him back to New Jersey for prosecution.
