The Bainbridge High School football team will close out their spring practice schedule this Friday, with a scrimmage at Centennial Field at 5 p.m.
Bainbridge coach Jeff Littleton said there is no admission for the scrimmage, and it will probably last about an hour to an hour and a half.
Littleton said there will not be any clock or scoring during the scrimmage, but that the coaches will have the players practice “game-like situations.” He said there will not be any special teams, and the team will be divided into three groups, ensuring that everyone gets a chance to get on the field.
“We’re going to line up and run some plays,” Littleton said. “We’re going to let everybody in and get a chance to get on film, so they can look at themselves and the coaches can evaluate their performance.
“We’re not going to have special teams, but we’re going to move the ball and have it as ‘game-like’ as possible.”
The Bearcats opened spring practice last Monday, May 6. This is the first year for Littleton, who was hired in March after serving eight years as Cairo’s defensive coordinator.
Littleton said the team has had strong effort throughout spring practice, and he hopes that the Bearcats have a good crowd at Friday’s free scrimmage.
“We just hope that everybody comes out and supports these kids,” he said.
