Josh left us much too soon, a young man with great promise, who lived his life well. He was loved beyond measure by his mother Lisa, father Bob, sister Courtney, extended family and more friends than one could count. Josh, a 10-year participant in scouting, was completing his Eagle Scout Designation as a member of Troop 201. For seven years running, he was a member of Gadsden County 4H, showing steers and hogs, excelling in both categories.
Josh was a student at Robert F. Munroe Day School where he played football for two years and baseball for three years. For all his life he belonged to his church family at First Presbyterian Church Quincy, accompanying his mother on youth outings and trips as a young boy, and then faithfully participating as a full-gown member of the middle school and high school youth groups. Josh loved anything to do with the outdoors, hunting, fishing, swimming and playing. Everything he did was with determination, an infectious optimism, and a warm, sometimes mischievous, smile. Josh, we will miss you and we will always hold you in our hearts.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Lisa Wilder of Quincy; sister, Courtney Wilder of Quincy; maternal grandparents, James and Roberta Sellars Lewis of the Recovery community; paternal grandmother, Mary Duggan Wilder of Bradenton, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Robyn Lewis (Brad) Stanley of Alachua, Fla.; Scotty (Ann) Lewis of Recovery; Sandi Wilder (Richard) Drace of Winter Park, Fla.; Lynn Wilder (Drew) Levins, David (Kim Ann) Wilder and James H. (Jeanine) Wilder, Jr., all of Bradenton, Fla.; and several cousins.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James H. Wilder.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert F. Munroe baseball and football teams, Boy Scout Troop 201 or the First Presbyterian Church Youth.
Charles McClellan Funeral Home of Quincy, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
