Faye moved to the Atlanta area in 1963 and began her first job working for Ed Voyles, Nash-Rambler car dealership in East Point, Ga. After a year, she left the dealership and began her banking career with Atlanta Federal Savings at the west end office. Faye had many positions of increasing responsibility, becoming a successful branch manager at Stewart-Lakewood and College Park. She enjoyed helping people and treated her business colleagues and employees as if they were part of her family.
Faye was a true leader and role model to many people she worked with and trained during her 28 years in the banking business. She was loved, admired and valued by all who worked with her. She was revered by her customers so much that many of them followed her to different branches so that she could continue to personally assist them. Faye was valued in the service community of College Park and Stewart Lakewood as she worked tirelessly to make them better communities in which to work and live. She retired in 1993 due to ill health.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. and Voncille Heard Clark.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth L. Phillips; children Kenneth Craig Phillips, Robin Phillips Williamson; grandchildren, Steven M. Williamson, Cole P. Williamson, Daniel Cristan Williamson, Braden Phillips; brother, Charles Adon (Pete) Clark; many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. She will be truly missed.
