Jordan Maxwell, the daughter of Georgia Power employee Mark Maxwell of Bainbridge, is one of 21 students statewide to receive a Georgia Power Scholarship. Maxwell attends the University of Georgia, where she majors in biology.
The Georgia Power Scholarship Program was created by former Georgia Power and Southern Company President and CEO Bill Dahlberg and has provided scholarships for Georgia Power employees for more than 25 years. This year, 21 individual scholarships worth $2,500 each were awarded.
The 2013 scholarship recipients were selected from nearly 170 applicants and were awarded based on academic achievement, leadership, character, integrity and school and community activities.
