Jimmy Howard Spooner, 67, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Stanley Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery, with Gator Brant, Roger Whitworth, Martin Bius, David Burton, Farrish Mulkey and Jerry Davis serving as active pallbearers.

Jimmy was born Nov. 24, 1945, in Bainbridge, the son of Howard Spooner and Betty Jane Barber Spooner. He was a graduate of Attapulgus High School, Class of 1964, retired as a plant superintendent for Milwhite Corporation, and was a former co-owner of the Bainbridge Truck Stop. Mr. Spooner was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Decatur County Young Farmers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gay M. Spooner.

Survivors include his daughters, Pam Kelley and her husband, Brad, of Bainbridge, Kim Allen and her husband, Zane, of Brinson, Ga., Rose Marie White of Brinson, and Lorie Wimberly of Bainbridge; his sister, Shirley S. White and her husband, Rodney, of Valdosta, Ga.; his grandchildren, Blake Kelley, Brooke K. Griffin and her husband, Zack, Tyler Allen, Seth Allen, T. J. Dueitt, Joy Dueitt, Steven Dueitt, Casey White, Preston White, and Austin White; and his 10 great-grandchildren.
