Ruth Hester Lambert, 86, of Climax, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Burdick and Rev. Dr. Don Prevatt officiating and will conclude at the church. Interment will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers.

Mrs. Lambert was born November 24, 1927 in Cairo, Ga., the daughter of Tobe Hester and Daisy Cannon Hester. She was a retired inspector for Jack Winter, Inc. and Ithaca Industries, Inc. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church and loved helping in the nursery. She loved caring for others, gardening, fishing in her younger years, and reading. Her family was the joy of her life.

Survivors include her children, Eddie E. Lambert of Climax, Dennis Lambert and his wife, Susan, of Climax, Sandra Lambert Pulsifer and her husband, David, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Wayne K. Lambert of Climax; her brothers, James Hester of Pensacola, Fla., T.J. Hester and his wife, Marcia, of Blythewood, S.C., and Howell Hester and his wife, Barbara, of Largo, Fla.; her sister, Betty Ann Mathis of Cairo; her sister-in-law, Sue Ellen Hester of Cairo; her grandchildren, Johnny Lambert (Suzanne), Glenda Faulkner (Grant), Andy Lambert, Jeffrey Lambert (Tonya), Dena Horne (Brandon), Brad Lambert (Melissa), Eric Lambert, Annette Edewaard (Kevin), Brian Pulsifer (Tammy), Shara Bankston (Bob), Charlene Pulsifer, and Andrea Bailey (Steven); 21 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Odes Eugene Lambert; her brothers, Jack Hester, Hayward Hester, and Billy Hester; and her sister, Helen Hester Collins.
