Seniors lead Lady Cougars to 7-0 start with win over R.F. Munroe

Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars improved their record to 7-0 with a 36-31 Thursday victory over Thomasville’s Brookwood Academy Lady Warriors at Perry Memorial Gymnasium and a 48-21 Monday victory over the Robert F. Munroe School Lady Bobcats in Quincy, Florida.
Leading the way for the Lady Cougars against the Lady Warriors were Perra Harrell with 14 points and 12 rebounds, Lindsey Duke with 10 points, Kelsey Harrell with 8 points, Kaitlyn Holcombe with 2 points, Mikey Harrell with 2 points and Addie Elkins with 3 rebounds.
“It was good to get the win over Brookwood, but we did not have a good offensive night,” coach Harrell said. “We still have a long way to go to smooth the edges of our offense. Defensively, we played pretty well, holding them to 31 points.”
Leading the way for the Lady Cougars against the Lady Bobcats were Perra Harrell with 19 points and 13 rebounds, Kaitlyn Holcombe with 9 points, Kelsey Harrell with 8 points 6 rebounds and 8assists, Lindsey Duke with 6 points, Mikey Harrell with 4 points and Addie Elkins with 2 points and 5 rebounds.
“We played a complete game on both sides of the ball,” coach Harrell said following his team’s win over the Lady Bobcats. “We were able to force several turnovers with our half court trap that led to some easy baskets.”
The Lady Cougars return to action Thursday against Aucilla at Monticello.
