Middle School track team wins meet

The Bainbridge Middle School boys’ track team won finished first pout of seven teams at the Central Middle School Yellow track meet on Tuesday.
Kasey Jones finished first in the high jump clearing the bar at a height of 5 feet, 10 inches. He was also first in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.00. The Bearcats finished first and second in the 4×100 relay. On the first place first team were Caleb McDowell, Caleb Lewis, Jordan Brown and Tevon McCray and on the second place team were Jones, Courtney Thomas, Derrick Smart and JaMorris Cosby.
Caleb McDowell finished second in the 100 with a time of 11:90 and the 200 meter with a time of 22:00.
The Bearcats’ three 4×400 relay teams finished first, second and fifth. On the first place team were McDowell, Lewis, Brown and Tevon McCray. On the second place team were Jones, Thomas, Smart and JaMorris Cosby and on the third place team were Raquan Freeman, Titus Porter, Mark Taylor and Monteric Robertson. Lawson Chandler finished second in the shot put.
“I was very pleased with the competitive fire exhibited by these middle school athletes,” Head Coach Patrick Clark said. “Our middle school track performers give me all they have in practice and meets and I am very proud of all of them.”
The Middle School Bearcats will return to Thomas County Central Tuesday, March 29 for their final middle school meet of the season.
