The Kirbo Center was decked out “In the Pink,” in keeping with the theme of the 10th annual Community Awareness Luncheon and style show held Saturday. The walkway to the building was adorned with pink bows, while inside the dining area tables covered with white tablecloths, each held a centerpiece containing three graduated crystal candleholders containing pink taper candles. Pink planners and mints were placed at each place setting. The chairs were covered with pink satin and pink balloons floated from the ceiling.

Welcomed by Linda Long, facilitator of the Decatur County Breast Cancer Support Group, attendees enjoyed a catered buffet luncheon, prepared by Jackie Willis, while models of all ages showed the latest fall fashions from Belk Department Store, Flint River Outfitters and Simply Southern. Tanya Crum was the emcee of the fashion show and special music was provided by Sharon Ingram.

Winners of items from two tables laden with door prizes donated by local businesses were announced throughout the luncheon. A Brighton necklace donated by Reeves Linens and Gifts was raffled at the conclusion of the event and was won by Glenna Thornton, who assists Linda Long with the support group activities.
